Subarea 2 is located on the BeltLine?s southern end, about two miles south of downtown Atlanta.

Subarea 10 is located along the west side of the Atlanta BeltLine, due west of Downtown Atlanta. The subarea includes one-half mile on either side of the Atlanta BeltLine right-of-way.
Subarea 1 includes Enota Park and the adjacent neighborhoods of Westview and West End.
The City of Decatur is recognizing very early the trend that is likely to occur in its commercial centers in particular as revitalization happens across the City.
This LCI Plan establishes a framework for public and private action that capitalizes on new demographic and market trends. The LCI Plan will equip the City to ll unmet demand for an active, pedestrian-oriented downtown area that includes expanded transportation options.
This current study serves as the ten-year update for the Downtown Decatur LCI study and the five-year update for the Avondale LCI study, but also for the first time incorporates the entire city limits of Decatur as a new LCI study area.
Founded in 1924 by George F. Willis, the City of Avondale Estates is the earliest known planned community in the southeast. Willis transformed the area known as Ingleside from a pastoral farmland to a lively village modeled after Stratford-upon-Avon. A team of civil engineers, landscape architects, and city planners helped Willis create a community of homes, shops, and recreational areas in a lush, green landscape with many small neighborhood parks.
The Old Fourth Ward is a dynamic and diverse
neighborhood with a rich history. Like many
Atlanta neighborhoods, it is facing significant new
challenges as it enters a period of rapid change.
The ten years following the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games bore witness to a renewed spirit of growth and advancement for Atlanta?s city center culminating in 2004 with the creation of a consolidated and progressive vision for the future entitled Imagine Downtown.
